INVITATION TO A VIRTUAL WEBINAR: IMPACTS OF COVID-19 ON AFRICA’S FOOD SYSTEMS, NUTRITION AND HEALTH moderated by Professor Rickey Yada

Here, I extend an invitation to a webinar series themed COVID-19 AND AFRICA aimed at highlighting African responses to COVID-19 across the different sectors to include public health, food security, education etc., This a graduate student-led initiative hosted by the LIU Institute Network for Africa at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada.

Thank you to all who attended the first meeting on Public Health Systems and Healthcare. With slightly over 200 people tuning in last time, we are thrilled to bring you another stimulating episode on the Impacts of Food Systems, Nutrition and Health on July 30th, 9:00-10:30 am (Vancouver) / 4:00-5:30pm (Accra) / 7:00-8:30pm (Addis Abada) / 6:00-7:30 pm (Gaborone) moderated by Prof Rickey Yada (Dean of Faculty of Land and Food Systems.

In this session, we will examine the actual and potential impacts of COVID-19 on Africa’s agricultural and food systems. Esteemed speakers from Ghana, Ethiopia, Botswana, and the FAO Africa Regional office will share their insights into the implications COVID-19 has had on health and livelihoods in their regions” .
