Please join us on Monday March 18th at Ponderosa Commons Ballroom (Oak House) from 8 am to 6 pm for the conference. The conference features a keynote address and oral and poster presentations from graduate students in 8 different LFS programs: Applied Animal Biology, Food Science, Human Nutrition, Integrated Studies in Land and Food Systems, Master of Food Science, Master of Food and Resource Economics, Plant Science, and Soil Science!

Registration is 15 dollars and includes complete access to the conference plus breakfast, lunch, and access to the awards reception.

Reminder: 3rd annual UBC PAW Animal Welfare Conference!

The UBC Pre-Vet and Animal Welfare (PAW) club is happy to present its 3rd annual UBC PAW Animal Welfare Conference! This year’s conference has a focus on “Wildlife Management and Conservation”, with five renowned speakers joining to share their expertise. The 2019 UBC PAW Animal Welfare Conference looks to shed more light on human-wildlife interactions and how an individual may personally impact wildlife welfare in their day-to-day life.

This year’s conference will be held at the Graduate Student Society Loft in the AMS Nest (RM 4202) on March 8th from 12:30 pm to 4:30 pm. Our speakers include professors from the University of British Columbia and University of Calgary, as well has animal health care professionals from the Vancouver Aquarium, and a representative from the BC SPCA. Each speaker has had experience working with wildlife and are longtime advocates for wildlife welfare.
