BCFT Student Scholarships 

Due June 30, 2017

BCFT would like to recognize students who are members of BCFT for their accomplishments. These awards are available for UBC and BCIT students who demonstrate outstanding scholastic achievements, leadership skills and devotion to food science and technology. Each award is valued at $500-1000.

Eligibility

To be eligible, applicants must be BCFT members (through CIFST or IFT) and must be registered students at BCIT or UBC. Students are eligible to apply if they are currently registered or registered for the upcoming year (2017-2018). Individuals must complete the application form and send supporting documents to bcftstudentawards@gmail.com by June 30, 2017.

The Application

The application asks for details relating to experiences (for example internships, work experience, and lab experience) that have contributed to the applicant’s understanding of food science, and how this has impacted career goals. Also part of the evaluation criteria is the applicant’s involvement in food science-related activities and the impact of these contributions. Applicants are additionally asked to outline the reasons they feel they are a deserving candidate for the award. Contact information for an individual willing to provide a letter of support for the applicant is also required. This individual will be contacted by BCFT to obtain the letter of support. Please ensure that a curriculum vitae (or resume) and an unofficial transcript are emailed directly to bcftstudentawards@gmail.com with “BCFT Student Scholarship” followed by the applicant’s name in the subject line. Incomplete applications will not be accepted.

International Conference on Agribusiness in Emerging Economies – Jan 2018

It gives me immense pleasure to inform you that TERI University is organizing International Conference on Agribusiness in Emerging Economies during January 3-4, 2018 in collaboration with Whitman School of Management and the South Asia Centre at Syracuse University, USA and Journal of Agribusiness in Developing and Emerging Economies (JADEE) being published by Emerald Publishing.

This conference aims to bring together scholars, practitioners, policy makers and other stakeholders from around the world to present and share their original research and expertise on agribusiness in the developing and emerging economies. The conference will cover a broad spectrum of relevant themes, methodologies, and research approaches including empirical, conceptual, review and case studies. Selected papers will be published in JADEE. The conference is likely to be attended by 150 participants from across the globe with a majority of participation from US, Singapore, Vietnam, Srilanka, Afghanistan, Nepal, Bhutan, Brazil and many more.
