Graduate Programs: Waitlist Registration is now OPEN for August 19, 26, 27 2017 Grad ISW

Waitlist registration is now open for the Instructional Skills Workshop (ISW) August 19, 26, 27 2017.  The ISW is an internationally recognized program and students receive transcript notation for their participation. In addition, graduate students in STEM departments are eligible to become CIRTL associates upon completion of the workshop.   The ISW is a 3-day intensive workshop that develops participant’s teaching skills and confidence.  It is appropriate for first time teachers or those with years of experience.  Join the thousands of students who have taken this workshop. 

IMPORTANT: The workshop runs from 8:15am-5:00pm. Please note you must be able to attend all three days, i.e. the entire 24-hour workshop.  Please find attached the policy for registering in an ISW and an FAQ sheet.

Waitlist registration will close on Friday at 4:30pm. By clicking this link, you can register for the waitlist, however this does not register you for the workshop. Volunteer for New Graduate Student Orientation

The new graduate student orientation will take place on Thursday, August 31st  with other orientation activities scheduled through early September. Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies along with the Graduate Student Society and International Student Development will have orientation-related volunteer positions to be filled.

Applicants must be current UBC Graduate Students in their 2nd year or later to apply. If you are interested, please send an email to: graduate.orientation@ubc.ca.  We will provide specific information on volunteer positions once the event schedule is finalized.
