Canada Graduate Scholarship – Michael Smith Foreign Study Supplements, Fall 2017 Competition

The Canada Graduate Scholarship – Michael Smith Foreign Study Supplements (CGS-MSFSS) Program supports high-calibre Canadian graduate students pursuing exceptional research experiences at research institutions outside of Canada. This program is available to Canadian citizens or permanent residents who hold a Vanier CGS or a Tri-Agency CGS at the Master’s or doctoral level. Note that international students who hold a Vanier CGS are not eligible for this competition.

Award Value: up to $6,000 for three to six months

Deadline:

·         NSERC and SSHRC: Friday, 15 September 2017

·         CIHR: first come, first served – Eligible applications will be accepted on a first come, first served basis. G+PS will forward complete, eligible applications to CIHR as they arrive. Applicants are encouraged to submit their applications well in advance of the deadline.

Graduate Programs: Waitlist Registration is now OPEN for September 10, 16, 17 2017 Grad ISW

Waitlist registration is now open for the Instructional Skills Workshop (ISW) September 10, 16, 17 2017.  The ISW is an internationally recognized program and students receive transcript notation for their participation. In addition, graduate students in STEM departments are eligible to become CIRTL associates upon completion of the workshop.   The ISW is a 3-day intensive workshop that develops participant’s teaching skills and confidence.  It is appropriate for first time teachers or those with years of experience.  Join the thousands of students who have taken this workshop. 

IMPORTANT: The workshop runs from 8:15am-5:00pm. Please note you must be able to attend all three days, i.e. the entire 24-hour workshop.  Please find attached the policy for registering in an ISW and an FAQ sheet.  

This workshop is always in high demand.
