Please don’t forget to register for the fall semester.

Research students: Please register for the Thesis course and Seminar (if applicable) for BOTH terms ASAP and keep continuous registration throughout your program. If you have doubts, or problems registering, don’t hesitate to contact me. 

Professional students: register for courses – please check with your academic advisor (Azita for MFS, Gabi for MFRE, Chloe for MLWS).

Last day for final master’s theses and doctoral dissertations to be accepted by the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies for September 2018 degree granting. Must be approved and accepted by 4:00 pm 

Last day for students to complete all program requirements (including major papers) for non-thesis master’s degrees for September 2018 degree granting. 

*Applications to graduate that are not approved in September 2018 will be moved forward to November 2018; a new application is not required.

Get ready for the new school year with a week of free professional development workshops on teaching, learning and technology. The CTLT Summer Institute is designed to help participants enhance their understanding of sound teaching practices and how to implement them in their teaching.  

The Institute will kick off with a welcome session. There will be more than 20 events throughout the week on topics including open education, student wellbeing, learning analytics, inclusive teaching and more.

Waitlist Registration is now OPEN for Sept 8, 15, 16 2018 Grad ISW

Waitlist registration is now open for the Instructional Skills Workshop (ISW) September 8, 15, 16 2018.  The ISW is a 3-day intensive workshop that develops participant’s teaching skills and confidence.  It is appropriate for first time teachers or those with years of experience.  Join the thousands of students who have taken this workshop. The ISW is an internationally recognized program and students receive transcript notation for their participation. In addition, graduate students in STEM departments are eligible to become CIRTL associates upon completion of the workshop.   

IMPORTANT: The workshop runs from 8:15am-5:00pm. Please note you must attend all three days for the complete duration of the workshop, i.e. the entire 24-hour workshop.  Please find attached the policy for registering in an ISW and an FAQ sheet.

Don’t Miss Out – Calling for Abstracts to BC Food Protection Association Fall Conference

Don’t miss out! The deadline is approaching!!

BCFPA_Fall_Conference_Poster_Competition

The British Columbia Food Protection Association is currently accepting abstract submissions to their student poster competition to be held at their fall conference (October 18th, 2018; Executive Plaza Hotel, Coquitlam).  Any students researching subjects related to food safety or foodborne pathogens are eligible to participate.  This one day conference will be a great opportunity for students to meet and network with industry and regulatory members in the area, as well as to share their research with fellow students and potential future employers.

The deadline for abstract submission is August 31st, 2018.
