Project description:

The research project, funded by Genome BC, seeks to study public perceptions of gene editing technologies in the context of agriculture. We are interested in understanding the ways people understand new gene editing technologies and the ways that they perceive their benefits and risks. This study is led by Dr. Terre Satterfield at the Institute of Resources, Environment, and Sustainability (University of British Columbia).

Call for participants:

We are looking for members of the UBC community (students or staff) to participate in focus groups regarding gene editing technologies. Focus groups will last 2.5-3 hours. You do not need to have any prior knowledge or understanding of these technologies to participate. We offer a $50 gift card, to either Virtuous Pie or Loafe Café, to all participants. If interested, please contact Sara Nawaz at sara.nawaz@ires.ubc.ca.
