Influence and engage in natural resource management in a stunning area of Vancouver Island
In this role, your focus will be on complex natural resource issues, including old growth forest management within the North Island – Central Coast Natural Resource District. You will be responsible for engaging Indigenous communities on proposed actions flowing from the Old Growth Strategic Review to inform the development of a new old growth strategy. You will also work closely with industry, local government, and other stakeholders. Another key responsibility will be to bridge environmental, social, and economic disciplines of natural resource management to advance policy, Ministry priorities and strategies, and operational delivery of stewardship outcomes. Your strong forestry-oriented background will have you working with a diverse project team of multidisciplinary specialists across multiple agencies and be responsible for the management, coordination, and delivery of strategic initiatives from initiation through to conclusion.
