The resources include:

  • English Conversation Circles (Practice your English in a safe space.)
  • Professional Communication Skills Certificate (a series of 10 workshops)
  • Writing Coaching appointments

Find out more at the CLC: Online Canvas course and view the Calendar, make sure the CLC: Online Calendar is checked off, and then click “Find Appointment” on the righthand side of the screen. Then, all available workshops/appointments should appear.

GenAI 101: Ethical AI Skills for Students

Curious about how to use ChatGPT and other generative AI tools in your coursework, without crossing ethical lines? Join this interactive workshop to learn how to navigate generative AI in your studies with confidence.

We’ll explore Sauder’s policy on GenAI tools, discuss what ethical use looks like in different courses and assessments, and review practical ways to track and protect your academic work. You’ll also discover AI tools that can support your learning and research, plus strategies to verify AI-generated information so you can avoid common pitfalls.

Whether you’re new to generative AI or already experimenting with it, this session will give you the skills to use these tools responsibly and effectively.

You will learn to:
• Understand Sauder’s policy on Generative AI tools and their purpose in academia.
• Identify ethical and unethical uses of GenAI in coursework and assessments.
• Track and safeguard your academic work to demonstrate integrity.
• Explore useful GenAI tools and how to integrate them into your studies responsibly.
• Evaluate and verify AI-generated content to ensure accuracy and credibility.

Important: Updates to DAP Academic Policies and Support Services

We have recently updated several DAP policies and resources to better support your academic progress and planning. Please review the changes below:

  • Academic Standing: Updated information on academic standing, effective starting 2025W. Review the details here.
  • Rights and Responsibilities
    • Attendance Policy: Clarified expectations around class attendance, including information on late registration. The revised policy can be found here.
    • Academic Concessions: Updates to the academic concessions page include information on eligibility, types of concessions, and how to submit a request. Learn more here.
  • Program Advising – Virtual Office: To provide quick support for urgent or time-sensitive questions, DAP students can now access our Virtual Office. This resource is designed for short consultations to provide guidance efficiently. Learn more here.

Introducing the Student Engagement Hub (SEHUB)!

The Student Engagement Hub (SEHUB) is a welcoming, in-person space open to all UBC Sauder DAP, graduate and BCom students.

SEHUB offers student services, peer support, and community-building opportunities to help you feel connected, supported, and informed throughout your time at UBC Sauder. It’s not a lounge or study space, but a place where you can:

  • Join craft and community activities that foster belonging and engagement
  • Connect with friendly student staff for support and guidance
  • Access wellbeing resources like snacks and sensory items
  • Borrow materials and supplies through a lending system
  • Use the space for student-led programming, workshops, and meetings (by request)
  • Participate in Career Peer Advising and workshops from the CLC at scheduled times

Location: HA 338
Hours: Monday–Thursday, 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM (drop-ins welcome!)
