Framing involves erecting the structure of the house. Framing is typically done using dimensional lumber such as 2×4’s and 2×6’s, and plywood. After the structure has been erected, the trusses and roof are then installed.
Service installation involves plumbing, heating ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC), electrical and low voltage such as alarm systems being installed.
Framing and the installation of services is a phase of construction that typically does not involve the release of harmful substances into the storm water system. The materials and products used during these phases of a project are not known to be harmful to aquatic organisms and the risk of release into the storm water system is low.
Mitigation during this phase of construction involves maintaining correctly installed sediment and erosion control measures as well as any required tree protection fencing. General site recycling and disposal rules need to be enforced during this phase where multiple sub-trades can be present daily onsite.
