UBC Teacher Education Program (BEd)

In the Bachelor of Education (BEd) Program in the Faculty of Education at the University of British Columbia, I have worked as a Teaching Assistant (TA) for the following courses:

– EDST 401: Education, Schooling, and Society (September – November 2012); Elementary Program, Social and Emotional Learning Cohort

– EDST 402: Education and the Media (November – December 2012); Elementary Program, Social and Emotional Learning Cohort

– EDST 404: Ethics and Education (May – June 2013); Secondary Program, Mixed Cohorts

As a TA for EDST 401 and 402, my primary responsibilities included designing the courses including creating course goals and learning objectives, lesson plans, and assignments; teaching the courses with the support of a faculty mentor; assessing students by providing written and oral feedback; and supporting individual students needs through consultations outside of class.

As a TA for EDST 404, my primary responsibilities included supporting the course instructor in all aspects of the course including providing feedback on the course syllabus; contributing to the development of lesson plans and learning activities; and supporting in class discussions.
