AWW App

whatisit.png

AWW stands for A Web Whiteboard, which is exactly what it is. An online digital whiteboard that can be curated by a single or multiple users.

This digital whiteboard is device-responsive, web-based, and FREE which means it’s quick to access for multiple users. A teacher can pre-create a board and invite students to brainstorm on it or students can create their own board to be shared. On the digital canvas you can draw, add text, and upload images.

You can also use this app to transform your projector into a “smart board” by using the AWW app on your tablet, connecting it to your projector, and then displaying your interactions.

Let this cloud-based video creation service seamlessly pair templates and music to your own choice of photos or videos for an elegant presentation. You can use it as an educator to create video slideshows or allow your students a different approach to presenting.

We want to give choice to students so they have ownership over how they share their knowledge, so this is one option they could choose. Relieve the anxiety of having to create from scratch by using Animoto’s themes, music, and automatic layouts. Animoto also provides music with each theme or you can select other songs that are provided without worrying about licensing. You can also access a stock image library provided by Getty Images to use for free. Use Animoto to scaffold your learners from posterboards or powerpoint, and prepare them for going even deeper with multi-media presenting. If you want to read more about how Animoto can be used in a classroom, read their Education Blog for lesson ideas like building book trailers, presenting research, or sharing historical timelines or recounts.

You could also use Animoto yourself to shake-up your classroom/school newsletters, year-end slideshows, teaching vocabulary, introducing new content or concepts, and even to introduce yourself. Read their FAQ page for additional videos and supports that will help you get started in your own classroom.

  2. Create alias emails for your students. **just a variation on your master email address**
    • In Animoto, click on sign up.
    • Use your class gmail account + a student alias [division1+fakestudent@gmail.com]

Softron

whatisit.png

Softron is a web-based software that can be used for formative or summative assessment. It helps teachers administer tests to students as it generates results and student data. It can also be used as an in-class instant response and summative feedback tool.

Why-is-it-relevant-360x82.png

Softron helps teachers save time by uploading a digital or scanned copy of their pre-existing test instead of re-creating their pre-existing test within the website. These tests can be in any format such as (Word, PDF, JPEG).

While formal tests are not emphasized to the same degree in the current BC curriculum, quizzes and tests can still provide valuable information as part of a carefully designed program of triangulated assessment.
