My main research and clinical interests focus on behavioural concerns in children and adolescents with neurodevelopmental disorders. Specifically, I am interested in how parenting practices, executive functioning, and language development impact challenging behaviours in these youths. In the future, I hope to improve access to psychological services for underserved populations, particularly rural schools and families. Thankfully, I have been able to pursue these interests due to SACP’s flexibility and commitment to providing opportunities to pursue individual interests. I also appreciate how our program allows for a good work-life balance – it makes me feel challenged professionally while also allowing me to be a supportive parent. While spare time is hard to come by while balancing rigorous doctoral studies and parenting young children, I have always been able to make time for activities that are important for me, such as running, cooking, and reading.
