Angelina Lee

I was born in Seoul, South Korea, and I moved to Metro Vancouver at the age of 12. My clinical and research interests include: evidence- and practice-based approaches with children/youth and their families of diverse cultural, ethnic, and linguistic backgrounds, culturally responsive and respectful research and practice, family involvement, and early childhood mental health. Under the supervision of Dr. William McKee and Dr. Cynthia Nicol, my dissertation explores the meaning and the experience of a sense of belonging in Canada with the members of a local refugee community, using Participatory Action Research and Photovoice. As a recipient of the Public Scholars Initiative Award at UBC (https://www.grad.ubc.ca/campus-community/meet-our-students/lee-angelina), I am passionate about community-based research and collaborative scholarship. In my spare time, I volunteer at a local food bank, host social events, and enjoy outdoor activities, yoga, fitness, and long-distance running. The completion of the BMO Vancouver marathon is one of my non-academic accomplishments during graduate training.
