Students are actively involved in developmentally sequenced practicum experiences in all programs in addition to course-based practical experiences.
M.Ed. students complete a 9-month practicum experience (September through May) in school and clinic settings in Year 2. Focus is on assessment, classroom based-intervention, and consultation activities.
M.A. students complete an integrated practicum with advanced M.A. and Ph.D. students in Year 1 (September through June) and Year 2 (September through April).
Ph.D. students complete an integrated practicum with M.A. students in Year 1 (September through June) including supervision and school based experiences. In Year 2 they continue with integrated practicum experiences with the M.A. students in addition to their agency placement. Students in Year 3 may elect to do additional practicum to help develop clinical focus or specialization. They complete a 12-month (1600 hour) internship in year 4 or 5 (depending on their dissertation focus and progress).
