Happy Holidays!
Congratulations Class of 2015 on your completion of your Capstone project!
We would like to remind you to please send your Powerpoint slides to askMBA@sauder.ubc.ca so these can be shared with the executives of the companies which you presented to.
Thank you for your hard work and enthusiasm in putting together these presentations, they were very much appreciated by all our participants.
Best,
The Capstone Team
There is an exciting new fellowship opportunity for M.B.A. students who seek advanced Japanese language training. The Inter-University Center for Japanese Language Studies (IUC) is the premiere American program for such training. Located in Yokohama, Japan and administered at Stanford University, the IUC has trained more than 2,000 students over the last 50 years. Our unique program includes an elective course on the language of Japanese law, and many of our alumni have gone on to become partners at prominent international companies.
We are delighted to announce a new fellowship program generously sponsored by The Nippon Foundation. This program provides full tuition and a modest stipend to graduate students currently enrolled in J.D., M.A., M.S., and M.B.A. programs who seek Japan-focused careers in their professions. Successful applicants must pass the IUC language exam, which requires a high-intermediate level of language acquisition. Information and assistance with the application process is available through our IUC representative at UBC, Professor Christina Laffin (christina.laffin@ubc.ca).
Full details on the program are now available on our website here: https://web.stanford.edu/dept/IUC/cgi-bin/programs/nippon-foundation.ph
I invite you to participate in a survey which seeks to gather information on your experiences thus far at Sauder. During your MBA journey, you have completed 2 surveys. As the program is closing in a couple of days, we have set aside 30 minutes for you to complete the final survey tomorrow (Wed, Dec 10).
After you present your final presentation to the Executives, please go to HA 098 where you will complete the online Final Student Experience Survey. An email will be sent to you tomorrow with a direct link to the survey.
We appreciate your honest feedback and are dedicated to making continuous improvements to the program.
The BCC will be closed on Thursday, December 11 from 12:00-4:30 pm. BCC staff will be volunteering at the Lower Mainland Christmas Bureau as part of our holiday volunteer initiative – http://www.lmcb.ca/
We will re-open with regular business hours on Friday, December 12.
The online application for graduation will open in December – the graduation office has not given us an exact date yet but we will notify you via email when the application is open and what your next steps should be. The application stays open until the end of February.
The 2015 Spring congregation dates are May 20-22 & May 25-27. We are in regular contact with the graduation office and they have not released the specific date and time for the MBA graduation in May yet. They have let us know this information will be released in January, at which time we will communicate it to you via email as well.
More information about the graduation process can be found here: http://www.students.ubc.ca/coursesreg/graduation/
If you have any questions you can direct them, as always, to askmba@sauder.ubc.ca.
