CFA Awareness Scholarships for December 2014 Exam

Are you writing the level I CFA exam in December 2014?  Sauder has up to 5 scholarships available. The scholarship reduces the CFA Program enrollment and exam registration fee (includes access to the curriculum eBook) to US$350. Scholarship candidates are responsible for any additional costs related to selecting/purchasing the curriculum.

Canadian Derivatives Exchange Scholars Program

Two graduate scholarships of $15,000 each are available via the Canadian Derivatives Exchange Scholars Program.  Students must be registered in a full-time graduate program at a university in Canada.  The scholarship will be awarded to successful students to support them conducting a research project on exchange-traded derivatives, financial risk management or any topic related to the Montréal Exchange’s business. Innovation of the project application will be evaluated in the selection process. Details are available in this pdf or online.

Paul Stothart Memorial Scholarship in Mineral Economics

The Mining Association of Canada and its members have established a $3,500 scholarship following the 2012 passing of Paul Stothart, MAC’s former Vice President of Economic Affairs.

To qualify for the scholarship, candidates must be studying either a Bachelor of Masters of Economics/Commerce, or a Master of Business Administration. Students must also demonstrate an interest in mining finance supported by current or intended course work.

Eligible students must apply by May 15th to qualify and the $3,500 scholarship will be awarded for the 2014-2015 school year.

UBC MBA Community Leadership Awards

UBC MBA Community Leadership Awards
Full-time MBA Graduating Class of 2015

Multiple awards of $5,000 are available to MBA students who exemplify the Robert H. Lee Graduate School principles of leadership and contribution in the UBC MBA community.   Recipients will be selected on the basis of their UBC MBA community-based involvement, leadership qualities and their academic performance in the program.

NOTE:  Emphasis is for involvement within the MBA program and the Sauder School of Business – whether with fellow students, clubs, organizing workshops, volunteering with events, etc.  Mentioning involvement in the external community would also be beneficial, but the emphasis should be within the program.

These awards are open to Graduating Class of 2015 full-time MBA students only.

Application Procedure:

 Submit the following:

  1.  Cover letter (length 1 to 2 pages maximum) providing information on your UBC MBA community involvement and leadership roles (describing the contribution and initiative you have demonstrated in these areas).
  2. Current resume or curriculum vitae

CFA Awareness Scholarships – Submission Extension

If you are taking the CFA exam in June 2014, you may be eligible to obtain a CFA Awareness scholarship

What are CFA Awareness Scholarships?

Awareness Scholarships are designated for key influencers in the academic and financial communities.   These awards reduce the CFA Program enrollment and exam registration fee (includes access to the curriculum eBook) to US$350.   NOTE: Scholarship candidates are responsible for any additional costs related to selecting/purchasing the curriculum.

Eligibility for University/College Students:

 The Scholarships Candidate must be a currently enrolled college or university student in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at a school that is either a CFA Program Partner (which UBC is) or in the University Recognition Program.

Recipients of the June scholarship may only apply it to the upcoming June exam (Levels I, II, and III).
