RSVP for 2nd Annual MBA Alumni Mixer

This is an important reminder to RSVP for next week’s networking event. We have organized a fun and valuable event just for you at Earl’s Yaletown. We will begin the evening at 5:15 with a short presentation from one of our alumni on the ins and outs of working with recruiting agencies / search firms, followed by the networking reception with alumni. 

At present, the RSVPs on the alumni side look strong. This is a business casual event (bring your name tag), a chance to mix, mingle and get to know your predecessors and a chance to practice your mixing/mingling skills with a very friendly audience.

The BCC Graduate Careers team will be facilitating a Internship Info Session for MBA students on Thursday, January 16 at 12:45-1:45 pm in HA 492.  This session is MANDATORY for all MBA students to attend.  We will provide a detailed agenda closer to the date so please ensure you are checking your Blog feed on a regular basis over the next week!

This is a great opportunity to practice your interview skills in an environment where you will receive real-time feedback before summer internship interviews start!

In addition to the Mock Interview E reminder post by Ian Christie click here,  please bear in mind that in order to proceed to have a VPI with our external consultant Barry Howard, you must have completed your Mock Interview E and shared your interview with your  Career Manager before your scheduled VPI date.

The  Hari B. Varshney Business Career Centre invites you to attend a casual MBA alumni and student mixer. This event is a great opportunity to connect with MBA alumni, practice your networking skills and have a fun, lovely night out in a casual setting. Hello FT MBA 2015 International students!

Just a friendly reminder if you have not already submitted your paperwork to obtain your Co-op Work Permit and/or SIN Card for your summer internship experience, doing so in the next few weeks is a great idea if you are staying on campus or in Vancouver during your holiday break!

IF you have received your Co-op Work Permit and/or SIN Card please stop by the BCC  during our office hours and we can make copies for your internship file to be sure you are accounted for.

Note: Co-op Work Permits/ SIN Cards must be submitted to the BCC by Monday, May 5, 2014 to be eligible to start your summer internship.  Employers may ask for this documentation as part of your summer internship job offer.  It is best to start this process now, instead of waiting to the last minute!

Moving forward, please make sure to use your official transcript (pictured below) for your applications. Please visit the following website for further instructions on how to obtain your current transcripts: http://www.students.ubc.ca/coursesreg/transcripts/.  We suggest you order and after receiving your transcript, scan and upload to your COOL profile.  Alternatively, you can send  your transcript to carly.boettcher@sauder.ubc.ca so she can upload to your COOL profile on your behalf.  It is also best to order a few times per year to ensure the most current official transcript is on file at the BCC.
