Track Declaration & Module Registration

As you are part of the Part-time MBA Program, you will be automatically registered by the Graduate Programs Office into modules which take place from now until March 2014.

You will receive a message from the Graduate Programs Office in February 2014 which will ask you to declare your track selection and will be granted permission to self-register into modules that pertain to your track which will take place between April – July 2014. You need not worry about seat availability for any Cohort 11 – Part time MBA track modules as you and your classmates will have the highest priority when registering to these courses.

Note that you are not required to take any Full-time MBA modules as your program will offer a sufficient amount of weekend modules in order for you to fulfill your Track requirements and graduate.

If you do decide to take Full-time MBA courses, you would have second priority to register for these modules.

Internship Database and other resources

Hi Class,

As P2 comes to an end, we just wanted to highlight a few resources you can explore on Connect/myMBA Career and remind you of Mock Interview E on Interview Stream:

The Internship Database (on Connect=>myMBA Career)

This database allows you to search previous projects to get a glimpse at what former students have done during their three month summer window. Learning about which companies have taken a student in the past might be particularly interesting. You will also be able to read about their learning opportunities and challenges past MBAs faced during their summers from their own perspective.

You can search previous internships based on Year | Role/Title | Industry or Project Specialization.

Also, make sure you visit/research the Sauder Career Success Cycle and check the Book of Lists 2013 from Business in Vancouver (My PD Journey=>Phase 1).

Cheers,

BCC

Waiting for a Few Final Resumes

We are anxious to produce your class resume “book” and put it in the hands of our business development team. However, there are a handful of students who have not sent in/finalized their resume. As communicated, the direction and expectation is that all students are represented in the class resume book.

If you are one of the few who have not completed this important task, please do so this weekend/end of business Monday.

Business Plan Supplemental Information Submission

This is a friendly reminder that your Business Plan Assignment is due at 4:00pm on Wednesday, Dec 4 via Connect > myIPD > BA 504 (3.0) Integration & Professional Development: Foundation > Business Plan Project > Business Plan Supplemental Information Submission Dropbox

Instructions: Each team is required to submit 1 soft copy via the assignment dropbox in Connect by 4:00pm on Dec 4th. Please select only 1 member of your team to submit this soft copy. *Only a single attempt is allowed. If you have any issues, please email cherry.wang@sauder.ubc.ca

One-on-One Presentation Skills Coaching Sessions

A reminder that your one-on-one presentation skills workshop with Cameron Morrell will be from December 2-3 from 9:00am-4:55pm each day in HA 133.

There will be 11 timeslots per each day and each team has been scheduled into a timeslot that does not conflict with your registered Creativity section.

Please review the attached schedule: 2015 FT MBA Presentation Workshop sessions

This workshop is a delivery practice session. It is highly recommended that you bring a completed slide deck (or at least almost done) because you will go through it slide by slide, redesigning the presentation and enhancing the focus of the team’s message for your Business Plan Project Presentations on Friday, Dec4th at 4:00pm.

*Please come on time as the schedule that day will be quite tight!

If you have any questions, please email me at cherry.wang@sauder.ubc.ca
