Once baseline assessments have been completed and based on current fitness status, our staff will work with you to establish attainable and risk-free goals and aid you in being able to achieve these! We can develop resistance, cardiorespiratory, and flexibility exercise workouts, as well as a combination of all 3 if necessary. Depending on the duration of each workout plan, prices will vary. Personal training sessions and program developments will range from $40-60 per session. Please keep in mind that before and after each client’s workout each client will be asked to measure their blood sugar and blood glucose levels to ensure that they are working out at a safe level of intensity and duration. Please pay attention to the frequency of recovery days or active recovery weeks during these programs, as these are used to ensure proper progression and overload and aid in avoiding any inappropriate intensities that may lead to adverse health conditions.

In addition to exercise, nutrition plays a very important and crucial role in the management of diabetes and should always be considered when training. The role of nutrition in diabetes is to help control your blood sugar by meal planning, carbohydrate counting and the use of exchange lists. Nutritional management of Type 1 diabetes includes consistency of timing and amount of food eaten to synchronize the response to food intake with the action of injected insulin. With type 2 diabetes, nutritional managemetn includes restriction of calories to promote moderate weight loss, spreading nutrient intake (especially carbohydrates) throughout the day. Each client should read the Weight Management and Nutrition document posted below to expand their training program and incorporate these healthy nutrition guidelines:
