Hello everyone,

Since this week’s assignment will be focusing on creating a proper Linked In profile, I would like to share with you all some of the best practices we could apply when creating and networking through our Linked In profile. The practices are as follows:

1. Use a professional and proper headshot.
2. Unlike other social media account, properly state your actual complete name.
3. Write a great summary on your profile. This will help people who wants to connect with you know your interest, passion and career path.
4. Complete your profile with your experiences, education, projects, etc. This will help showcase your abilities and how active you are.
5. Incorporating pictures and concise, straightforward explanation in your experiences will invite people to want to read it.
6. Be active! Create a post about your experiences or what you learned, or even comment and like others’ posts to share with your connections.
7. Don’t be afraid to introduce yourself to new connections. It is a good way to expand your network and utilize that feature in Linked In as well.
8. Turn on the “Open Candidate” button to let people know you are recruiting.
9. Join groups that could help you widen your network in a field you might want to pursue.
10. Make sure to respond to messages politely. Don’t be hesitant to say hi to your new connections, as well as say please and thank you.

Before this assignment, I have been on Linked In for quite some time, so I hope with this knowledge, it could help you navigate better, in the case that you are a new user. Please let me know if there are problems when you are using Linked In, and I will see how I can help.
