Extended Health – claims must be submitted no later than December 31 of the year following the purchase date, so if you have any submissions left from 2018 make sure you submit them before the end of this year!
Dental Claims – you have one year from the date of the service to submit your claim!
Health Spending Account
If you have any unpaid claims for 2018 that you would like reimbursed from your Health Spending Account (HSA), you must ensure that these are received by Sunlife no later than March 31, 2019.
Your HSA can provide reimbursement for expenses not otherwise covered by the plan. You must apply for these credits by submitting a claim either by form or online via the Sun Life Plan Member website or through the Sun Life Mobile App.

2019 HSA Credits
CUPE 2950
Any unused HSA credits from Jan. 1, 2018 to Dec. 31, 2018 will be carried forward and must be used in the 2019 calendar year. Any unused credits from 2017 will expire after Dec. 31, 2018.
On Jan. 1, 2019, you will receive your new annual HSA credit of $125. Your new credit will be updated on the Sun Life Plan Member website by Jan. 7, 2019.
Management & Professional (M&P)
On Jan. 1, 2019, you will receive your new annual HSA credit of $200. Your new credit will be updated on the Sun Life Plan Member website by Jan. 7, 2019. Please refer to this previously issued Feb. 9, 2017 memo detailing the annual HSA credits you’ll receive through 2020.
