On Thursday, April 6th, UBC Okanagan’s IT staff faced the top-ranked women’s varsity volleyball team in their first annual charity match.

Both teams battled hard at the net, showing off their athletic prowess. Spike IT shone in their fluorescent yellow jerseys, but were extinguished by the women’s Heat in the first two sets.

In a close final set, the Heat managed to bump, set, and spike their way to a 25-23 victory over the IT team.

Both teams walked away winners, as they managed to raise $865 for the BC Cancer Foundation.

Stay tuned for next year’s face-off: the revenge of the nerds.
