ENGINEERINGLast week, on February 10th and 11th, UBC Okanagan’s Faculty of Applied Science welcomed more than 100 female high school students to campus as part of “Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day”. The participants had the opportunity to meet current UBC students, take a tour of the labs and research facilities, and participate in some hands-on activities. With the help of the Women in Engineering committee, the Faculty spent the day showcasing the engineering programs and introducing participants to all of the opportunities and resources available. From Engineers Without Borders to the Concrete Toboggan Club, there are lots of ways for engineering students to get involved, meet their peers, and have fun.
