You rely on the Student Information System (SIS) daily. You understand how it serves students, how it functions in your day to day tasks and what it means to UBC as a community. As faculty and staff you’re intimately familiar with all the ins and outs.

So what needs to be considered in replacing our aging SIS – bringing it in line with the 21st century and vastly improving the SIS experience on the whole? The University is currently undertaking this initiative, one of the most wide-scale and impactful in recent memory. To get a sense of the full scale of the scope of this undertaking check out this quick and helpful guide to the SIS Roadmap (PDF).

Across UBC the voices and invaluable input of students, faculty and staff have been heard at a range of workshops hosted by the SIS Roadmap team. The next opportunity to hear your ideas for evolving the design and implementation of the future SIS and update you on the project is coming up soon!  Please join Kate Ross and Oliver Gruter-Andrew, Chief Information Officer in a dialogue regarding the SIS replacement project at the Vancouver Town Hall, May 12th or the Okanagan Town Hall, May 15th.
