On August 28, despite the dark looming clouds and chilly autumn air, hundreds of staff and faculty came out to celebrate the start of another winter session. Nearly every department was there, from Payment & procurement to Parking. The music rocked, the burgers were delicious and the atmosphere was carnivalesque.
It is fortunate they’d arranged to set up tents, not long after food was served the clouds that had been gathering all morning finally burst and raindrops poured down. Everyone headed for cover but the rain diminished and stopped within moments while the band played on from beneath their covered stage.
Congratulations to those fortunate ones who won draw prizes. There were some great prizes to be had, and the abundance of promotional items at this event was remarkable. I only visited about half the tables before my hands were so full of gadgets, I couldn’t operate the camera anymore.
