New Forestry course in WT2: Arts, Forests & Societies (CONS 449C)

Standard

Hello LFS grad students,

See attached for the poster on a new course that is open for registration in the Faculty of Forestry: Arts, Forests & Societies, led by Associate Professor Intu Boedhihartono.

“Forests are crucial for societies, providing food, medicine, and timber, as well as essential ecosystem services. They support livelihoods in diverse ways but face challenges from land-use changes and economic pressures. Art can bridge diverse perspectives, promote shared-understanding, and contribute to community cohesion. This course explores the role of art and cultural processes in the forest and land stewardship, focusing on the challenges in tropical and sub-tropical regions while including examples from British Columbia. Students will engage with practitioners, scientists, and artists to learn how art and culture fosters environmental sustainability.”

Have a great weekend,

Kelli
