Graduate Student Summer Opportunity

Standard

I’m writing to you in your role as Department Head to share a program being offered to graduate students and postdocs this coming May in Ottawa and Montréal.

The program is called “Science Outside the Lab,” and it’s a week-long immersion into the world of science policy and decision making. Through the program, students have a chance to meet experts ranging from science journalists & museum curators to federal funders & science advisors. They’ll also gain a richer understanding of how policy is made, how to communicate with funders and decision-makers, and how science shapes – and is shaped by – government decisions.

I’ve attached a brochure about the program, and all the information and applications are available online at SOtLnorth.ca. We’ll begin offering acceptances for the sessions after February 15th.

I’d be really grateful if you could circulate it with the graduate students and postdocs in your department, as well as other faculty members who might have interested students.

Thank you for your time,

Eric
