March for Science Vancouver Apr 22, 2017

Standard

This Saturday, April 22nd, we are planning to get a group together to participate in the March for Science in Vancouver and we’d love for you to join us!

This is a non-partisan event where researchers and the public can express the important role science plays in our lives, as well as our support for science-based policy. There are over +450 marches being planned across Canada and internationally in +30 countries. Details about the event can be viewed at < https://www.facebook.com/events/1747338538915653/?active_tab=about>. This event has been endorsed by our parent society < https://fisheries.org/2017/03/march-for-science/>.

We plan to meet Queen Elizabeth Plaza at 9:45am on Earth Day – Apr 22, 2017. The march starts at 10am and goes until 1:30. Afterwards, those interested can join us at the Craft Beer Market (85 W 1st Ave, Vancouver). Please bring any science-themed garb you may care to wear (such as lab coats, waders, oil-skins, etc.) or ask us and we can bring a lab coat for you. You could also bring a sign with a positive message. Please let us know whether you are planning to come either to the march or beers afterwards and we can keep an eye open for you!
