President’s Excellence Chair in Biodiversity Studies

Standard

LFS has been involved in the search for a President’s Excellence Chair (PEC) in Biodiversity Studies, along with the Faculty of Science and Faculty of Forestry. The Chairholder will join the Biodiversity Research Centre and will become a member of the academic Department(s) and Faculty most closely associated with their research interests. We have determined the candidates who we will be interviewing, listed below. Please save the following dates on your calendars (seminars will be held at noon in the Beaty Biodiversity Museum on the first day listed for each, followed by a lunch with the graduate students). I have indicated the candidates that have more of an LFS focus.

Rees Kassen  [Sally Otto host] November 27/28

Meeting requests/coordination for the PEC candidate visits will be administered by the Botany Department. If you’d like to meet with any of the below short listed candidates, please contact Isabel Ferens (isabel.ferens@botany.ubc.ca).  Due to widespread interest in several departments, we ask that you request group meetings versus individual meetings.

Again, the seminars will be on day 1 at 12pm in the Beaty Auditorium.

More details and talk titles will follow soon.
