Family Day Pyjama Party at the Old Barn (URGENT)

The University Neighbourhoods Association is hosting a Family Day Pyjama Party at the Old Barn Community Centre. This free event is sure to engage children from the UBC community, and UBCLTS will be there to run a few fun science activities for the Kids! Come join us!

Science Week at Lorn Nelson Elementary (URGENT)

Science Week at Lord Nelson Elementary means hands-on science workshops, fun booths, science fairs, and more! Be a part of this awesome experience and help inspire tomorrow’s scientists. We are looking for volunteers that are interested in volunteer for at least one of the 4 available workshops and/or running a booth during the Science Fair. Volunteers will get the opportunity to run hands-on science experiments with students in grades 5-7.

 

Who: Grades 5-7

When: One or both shifts

Feb 13th at 10-11am (workshop)

Feb 15th at 10-11am (workshop)

Where: Lord Nelson Elementary (2235 Kitchener St, Vancouver, BC V5L 2W9)

Workshops: Feb 13th – Acids and Bases; Feb 14th – Rube Goldberg Devices

There are now more than 4,600 Special Olympics athletes participating in year-round programs in 55 communities around B.C., supported by more than 3,900 dedicated volunteers. Join Let’s Talk Science at the annual Special Olympics BC event at UBC to support amazing athletes and run a booth dedicated to the science of health!

When: Feb 25th; 9am-12:30pm

Activities: Kidney filtration and What’s in Blood

Where: Vancouver Tech Senior Secondary School (2600 E. Broadway, Vancouver)
