Join the GSS at Bard on the Beach July 14th

We’re organizing a special trip to see Shakespeare’s classic comedy As You Like in the beautiful setting of Vanier Park. This joyful production is a tribute to love, laughter and music. Set in the 1960’s it features 25 classic Beatles songs.

So join us for a Magical Mystery Tour. Don’t be a Nowhere Man. All you need to do is get your Ticket to Ride. Don’t Wait, Because, if you Let it Be you’ll be saying I Should Have Known Better and no one wants to be The Fool on the Hill.

Educational Intelligence

Peter Musser swapped a career in US Naval Intelligence for graduate study at UBC. He wasn’t sure what to expect when he became a GSS councilor for his department, but it’s a decision he doesn’t regret.

“Being in GSS has given me a lot of exposure to the grad student experience outside of my own program, which has been really invaluable. It’s really easy to find yourself siloed from all of the really great things going on at UBC, and GSS is a really potent way of breaking out of that.”

Providing an Edge for the GSS

Meet Anna Ringsred, the GSS Election Coordinator. Anna competed at the Sochi Olympics in speed skating before coming to UBC. She reflects on how she applies the lessons of sport to graduate study and how she came to volunteer with the GSS.
