Living Space Action Project – URGENT NEED FOR VOLUNTEERS

As space exploration evolves into long distance space travel, the impact of such travel on humanity is becoming more important! Let’s Talk Science has developed the Living Space Action Project to bring space down to earth and show the next generation of youth topics related to space! We are looking for volunteers to help with a teacher training program to help teachers develop skills to educate their students on programming and other space-related topics! Details below!

Opportunity 1 – A teacher professional development session using MicroBits from September 12 1p.m – 4p.m. The activity will be delivered by staff but 3-5 volunteers would be great to help teachers with activities. A description of the session can be found here: http://space.letstalkscience.ca/node/38 style=”color:rgb(34,34,34)”>. The session is geared towards teachers who want to include Let’s Talk Science’s new Action Project (that’s what we are calling “citizen science” projects): Living Space in their classroom (more information about the Action project can be found here:http://explorecuriocity.org/livingspace).

Opportunity 2 – A reception for funders and guests from September 12 4p.m.- 8p.m. The volunteers would be in charge of booth activities that include Micro:Bits (see attached activity), Virtual reality headsets(see description and videos her: http://explorecuriocity.org/Explore/ArticleId/4583/step-inside-your-stem-career.aspx style=”color:rgb(34,34,34)”>) and other coding activities.
