Self-care and Graduate Student mental health

We all know that looking after yourself is an important part of a happy and healthy life. But what is the value of self-care in a therapeutic context? what can students do to practice self-care? and how do we embed self-care on our campus?

Our speakers:

  • Fred Chou: Counselor, UBC
  • Dr Erin Michalak, PhD: UBC Faculty of Medicine. Her research has looked at community and self-care strategies for mental health problems
  • Lauren Oleksewich: UBC Alumnus, Health And Wellness Coordinator, BCIT Student Association and current graduate student
