DEADLINE = WEDNESDAY, MAY 1ST
Attached, please find the LFS Major (Greater Than $10,000) Graduate Awards application package (including instructions).
The application deadline is Wednesday, May 1st. By this deadline, all supporting documentation as well as a signed, scanned application must be received. It is the student’s responsibility to ensure their references have been submitted by the deadline.
Please note – there are several changes for this year’s competition:
- The George Weston Ltd. Doctoral Fellowship is new for this year. The $60,000 fund will provide three $20,000 awards to PhD students and is open to students in AABI, PLNT, SOIL, FOOD or ISLFS. Unlike all other LFS Major Awards, this award will be awarded and assigned in May 2019. All other LFS Major Awards will be offered to nominated students in late August and payments will start in September 2019.
- You are now required to provide a brief rationale for each award you wish to be considered for. This rationale should explain how your area of research meets the award description. You also must confirm that your supervisor agrees that you are eligible for award consideration.
- Award applications must be submitted electronically as an email attachment. Lia will confirm receipt of your electronically submitted application with an email.
- We will no longer have a Round 2 4YF competition as part of the LFS Major Awards. 4YF’s will be assigned in Feb/March each year.
