ATTENTION:  SEEKING TEAMS WITH TRANSFORMATIVE STARTUP OPPORTUNITIES

I’m pleased to announce that entrepreneurship@UBC’s incubator program is taking applications for our 2019 Fall Cohort! We’re looking for innovators and entrepreneurial faculty, staff and students who are passionate about building a transformative technology venture and need resources and expert guidance to build their venture.  Please circulate this information memorandum widely amongst your colleagues, staff and students.

Eligibility Requirements:

• At least one team member must have a connection to UBC: a faculty member, student, staff member, or recent alumni.
• Any graduate student team members should be within 1 year of completion of their program if they intend to be involved in the startup opportunity.
• Technology Readiness Level (TRL) at least 4, ideally 5 or 6.  TRL = 3 will be considered on a case by case basis. More info on Technology Readiness Levels here.

Program Summary

This competitive cohort includes 9 workshops and one-on-one mentoring with life science entrepreneurs, running from September to December.  Ventures will be competing for a membership in e@UBC’s coveted HATCH accelerator program.  Membership benefits include one-on-one venture building mentorship with a dedicated life science Entrepreneur-in-Residence, lab-design-office space, exclusive programming, events, networking opportunities, and access to the UBC Seed Fund.  Total value of the venture building experience exceeds $50,000.  Total cost to the venture:  $0 & their time, commitment, and passion!

Mentoring Opportunity
