Job Description Summary
To assist with research activities related to the Student-led Care @ Brain Wellness Program project, a collaboration among the BC Brain Wellness Program, UBC Kinesiology, the UBC Physical Therapy and Research Clinic, and UBC Dietetics.
Work Performed
- Completes literature reviews and internet searches
- Assists with ethics proposal and RISe application
- Assists with writing and preparing project materials (screening and intake forms, information sheets) as well as manuscripts for publication
- Administers adapted Delphi surveys, screening questionnaires, evaluation surveys, and other assessments
- Facilitates recruitment and screening of potential program participants.
- Participates in interdisciplinary research team meetings, which includes minute taking
- Participates in presentations and other knowledge translation activities and community engagement activities as needed (e.g., participant advisory meetings, report writing)
- Assists in analyzing and interpreting research data by performing tasks such as assembly, compilation and summary of statistical and other data.
- Performs other related duties as required.

– Errors in tracking aspects of the project, survey design, data recording and entry, or breaches in confidentiality have the potential to negatively impact program participants, students, and/or overall project success.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
– Undergraduate degree in nutritional sciences, health sciences, or a related field, and a minimum one year of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
– Willingness to respect diverse perspectives, including perspectives in conflict with one’s own
– Demonstrates a commitment to enhancing one’s own awareness, knowledge, and skills related to health equity, patient-centred healthcare, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
– This position requires visits to a health-care facility (BC Brain Wellness Program), therefore, the successful candidate will be required to provide verification of full vaccination against Covid-19 prior to the start date, as required by the BC PHO.
Preferred Qualifications
• Current graduate student at UBC, in health professions training or related field,
• Experience working in a research setting,
• Ability to work with clinical populations, e.g. people living with chronic brain conditions, in a compassionate and sensitive manner;
• Effective oral and written communication, interpersonal, multi-tasking, and organizational skills;
• Ability to work independently and to collaborate within an interdisciplinary team;
• Experience with computer software including MS Word, Excel, Power Point, NVIVo;
• Experience with online platforms: RISe, Qualtrics;
• Experience with basic descriptive statistics, and coding for qualitative analysis
