Scaffolding Experiential Education Symposium

Date: Monday, August 26th, 2024

Time: 9:00AM to 4:00pm (Lunch and light refreshments provided)

Location: Liu Institute for Global Issues, University of British Columbia, Vancouver Campus

This symposium will serve as a platform for sharing experiential education approaches, discussing challenges, and celebrating successes. Specifically, this event builds upon a study we have been doing on experiential education in large first and second-year courses.  The symposium will address the facilitators, barriers, and the potential of scaffolded learning outcomes in teaching experiential education in large courses. We find these topics to be pertinent to experiential education across the four years of the undergraduate journey in large and small classes and hope that you will join us for an engaging day with colleagues.

This invitation is to all faculty members including sessional and adjunct instructors who bring experiential education into their university classrooms at UBC and across the lower mainland. Graduate students interested in experiential education pedagogy are also welcome to attend.
