Lennie Cheung receives Killam Graduate TA Award

Congratulations to Lennie Cheung (PhD candidate) for being selected as the Killam Graduate TA Award recipient in LFS for 2022. The committee received a total of four nominations from different programs in LFS, who in turn taught courses in the Programs of Applied Biology, Food, Nutrition, and Health, Food and Resources Economics, and in the Core Series, enhancing learning for hundreds of students in LFS.

Thank you to Dan Weary, Kirsten Walker, Derek Dee, and Celina Chan (LFSUS Senior Advisor) for serving on the adjudication committee.

The LFS TA Application will soon be open to accept applications for Winter 2022/23  TAships for all Winter terms.

  • The TA App will be open from Thurs., March 31st, 2022 at 9:30am through
    Sat., April 30th, 2022 at 4:30pm.

After it closes April 30th at 4:30pm, application is by instructor or administrator invitation only.

If you are off-campus you must use a Virtual Private Network (VPN) to access the website.

POSITION FUNCTION
We’re looking for one or more summer assistants to help us with food production and ecological monitoring activities related to insect biodiversity This position will coordinate and conduct field work, in greenhouse and garden sites at the Hakai Institute on Calvert Island.

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
This is a co-supervised position between the Hakai Institute and UBC, with primary and direct day-to-day reporting to the Director at Hakai (Christina Munck) and remote meetings with the UBC collaborator (Dr. Juli Carrillo). Will collaborate with other researchers at UBC and the Hakai Institute.
