CBC RADIO:
CBC (Canadian Broadcast Corporation) Radio has a very interesting program called “IDEAS” and hosted by Paul Kennedy. The audience of this show (based on CBC) is more than 400,000 listeners. It airs every night – Monday to Friday from 9 pm to 10 pm. Some time ago, they had an entire series dedicated to science called “HOW TO THINK ABOUT SCIENCE” and I enjoyed listening to these series. I thought you might also find it interesting. This is another way we enjoy technology – we can share amazing materials with friends and colleagues and of course with our students.

Modern societies have tended to take science for granted as a way of knowing, ordering and controlling the world. Everything was subject to science, but science itself largely escaped scrutiny. This situation has changed dramatically in recent years. Historians, sociologists, philosophers and sometimes scientists themselves have begun to ask fundamental questions about how the institution of science is structured and how it knows what it knows. David Cayley talks to some of the leading lights of this new field of study.

Another great radio show from CBC is called Quirks and Quarks. This is hosted by Bob MacDonald . It is a science based show where Bob interview’s scientists about their research. It is a really good show. It comes on at 12:00-1:00pm on Sundays
