I grew up in Singapore before moving to Vancouver in Grade 12. I completed my Bachelor of Arts at the University of British Columbia, with a major in Psychology and minor in Family Studies. While I was an undergraduate student, my research explored parental factors, peer relations, and the social functioning of children with ADHD. I moved to Calgary to pursue my Master’s degree in School and Applied Child Psychology at the University of Calgary. My Master’s thesis focused on exploring emotional intelligence and depressive symptoms in children with ADHD. I am currently completing my PhD in the School and Applied Child Psychology program at the University of British Columbia. My research focuses on understanding children with diverse learning and mental health needs from an interdisciplinary perspective, with an emphasis on children social-emotional functioning and parental factors. In my free time, I enjoy exploring the beautiful mountains and lakes that surround Vancouver.
