20 Ideas on Being Happy and Being Happy with Yourself

Many times we need to remind ourselves that we are in charge of our own happiness, so I’ve written down some ideas to put in practice:

  1. Appreciate what you have
  2. Write down things that you love about yourself
  3. Write down new places you would like to explore and books you would like to read
  4. Visit those places and read those books
  5. Do tourism in your own city
  6. Watch inspirational documentaries or movies
  7. Find time to relax
  8. Treat yourself and make yourself a top priority
  9. Get to know yourself by spending time on your own
  10. Find something you are passionate about and try it
  11. Refresh your daily routine by changing something in your surroundings (for example redecorating your room as you feel like)
  12. Go somewhere and do something new and fun (experience new things, places, and events, meet new people and make new friends)
  13. Take care of yourself also on a physical level (you can start a new exercise program, for example dancing always works for me!)
  14. Stop putting so much value on what others think and trying to get their validation
  15. Don’t compare yourself to others, but to yourself, and leave perfectionism behind
  16. Forgive yourself (learn from what you did wrong in a constructive and optimistic way)
  17. Surround yourself of close good friends and family, and try to make a deeper connection with them
  18. Get rid of “toxic” things or people, and keep what is important, useful, and meaningful to you
  19. Be kinder toward others
  20. Don’t expect anything from anyone else apart form you
