Many times we need to remind ourselves that we are in charge of our own happiness, so I’ve written down some ideas to put in practice:
- Appreciate what you have
- Write down things that you love about yourself
- Write down new places you would like to explore and books you would like to read
- Visit those places and read those books
- Do tourism in your own city
- Watch inspirational documentaries or movies
- Find time to relax
- Treat yourself and make yourself a top priority
- Get to know yourself by spending time on your own
- Find something you are passionate about and try it
- Refresh your daily routine by changing something in your surroundings (for example redecorating your room as you feel like)
- Go somewhere and do something new and fun (experience new things, places, and events, meet new people and make new friends)
- Take care of yourself also on a physical level (you can start a new exercise program, for example dancing always works for me!)
- Stop putting so much value on what others think and trying to get their validation
- Don’t compare yourself to others, but to yourself, and leave perfectionism behind
- Forgive yourself (learn from what you did wrong in a constructive and optimistic way)
- Surround yourself of close good friends and family, and try to make a deeper connection with them
- Get rid of “toxic” things or people, and keep what is important, useful, and meaningful to you
- Be kinder toward others
- Don’t expect anything from anyone else apart form you
