Union-Tribune: Hearing begins for teachers, district
A lengthy labor dispute between East County’s largest school district and its teachers union reaches a critical point today.
The two sides will meet for fact-finding, a state-required process that must occur before teachers can decide whether to strike.
A three-member panel will hold closed hearings today and tomorrow at West Hills High School in Santee.
Each side will present arguments to the panel, which is composed of a representative from each side and state appointed labor arbitrator Robert Bergeson.
