I had some trouble settling on a topic for my final column, but I kept getting the feeling that I have something of an obligation to address the graduate students’ strike. I’ve been dodging it for several weeks, mostly because there hasn’t been a major development in months and the visibility of the Graduate Student Organizing Committee among the student body at large isn’t at its strongest. The administration has managed to undermine the strike and minimize any disturbance to the point where it’s hardly noticeable at all, the ever-present inflatable rat on the picket line in front of Bobst notwithstanding.
