New York Post: State $till Failing CUNY
City University, once free to generations of New Yorkers, now relies more on tuition fees than on state aid to operate its 11 senior and six community colleges, according to a new study.
The study, released yesterday by the city’s Independent Budget Office, confirms what CUNY officials have said for years – that a decline in state support has hampered the university’s ability to expand.
