The Press: Teachers union balks at performance pay
Outstanding teachers should not be paid more than their colleagues, union leaders say.
A report looking at the perceptions of teaching among those in the profession and those considering it found that low pay, poor pupil behaviour and negativity around teaching were the main barriers to recruitment and retention.
