The New York Post: Teacher in union war is demoted
An outspoken city teacher leading a charge against the proposed contract between his union and the city has been ousted from his school for jailed teens, The Post has learned.
Jeff Kaufman, 50, a criminal law teacher at Island Academy HS on Rikers Island and an executive in a union faction called the Independent Community of Educators, was demoted to desk duty two weeks ago.
