WXYZ.com: Detroit Teachers Hold Rally
Tuesday evening, hundreds of Detroit school teachers held a rally outside the Detroit Public Schools district offices at the Fisher Building to protest school administrators making more money while teachers took a pay cut.
Teachers Union President Janna Garrison said, “We feel very betrayed in regards to our wages. They’re taking our money and giving the administrators a raise.”
Union leaders said teachers gave up $63 million in concessions, including 5 days without pay, only to find out principals got a raise.
