Mindfulness is a technique characterized by having a non-judgmental moment-to-moment awareness of present experiences such as thoughts, emotions, sensations and external stimuli. Mindfulness helps us be aware of where we are and what we’re doing, and not be overly reactive or overwhelmed by what’s going on around us. There is increasing research showing that mindfulness training leads to re-wiring of the brain, which in turn has positive effects on overall well-being.
