Clicker 6 can be used to create communication grids, similar to ones used in apps like Touch Chat and Proloquo2Go. Here is an example:
I have not yet been able to find out how Clicker 6 communication grids compare with an app created for the purpose of communicating. I am not sure whether you would be able to have multiple pages for different topics, or whether it could only be one page – a digital version of a communication board. For EPSE 410 students, you will immediately notice that this communication grid is mostly designed for making requests. I am not sure that it would be possible to use Clicker 6 to create grids that supported authentic communication.
Crick software has developed a communication app, called Clicker Communicator. At $149US, (more with the addition of boardmaker PCS), it is comparable to Touch Chat, also $149. It would be interesting to compare the two products, although my understanding is that currently Touch Chat is the preferred communication app for speech and language pathologists, and other communication experts.
